“I had to pass on some information about a great vendor partner of ours: Lipman. I just happened to meet the regional sales manager on Monday the 13th of August while in Salinas. The very next day, a P.O. was missed somehow for delivery to our branch. Lipman tried to contact the branch, but there were people sick, off and out of town. The bulk of the second P.O. was for the Subway tomatoes and we would have had to reship untold numbers of units at a great cost to us, I’m sure. Lipman held their crew to make up as close as they could guess what we needed and shipped the full order to us.
Lipman has been around for 60 years and I predict they’ll be around a lot longer with service like they performed for us. I’m in contact often with them and they offer to do whatever it takes for our customers. We stock about 35 different tomato packs at any given time and I know a lot of our customers who depend on using up all of the tomatoes in the box they receive.
I just wanted to pass this on, because I won’t forget about it and the story needed to be told.”
